Hours: 40 hour work week.  At least 8 hours per weekend and an average of 3 weekends per month.  Shift work and on call coverage also a requirement.
Schedule would be known at least a week in advance.

Provide on-going mid-level technology support for CBT clients from participating test center sites and vendors.  Assist in the organization, deployment, and support of existing and new CBT systems technologies by working closely with the project representatives from other technology resources areas, program direction and test center administrators.

Assist with the configuration, testing and documentation of the systems as outlined in the project outline and scope.

Provide Level I and II technical support through telephone assistance during the installation and test administration phases of the project by following the guidelines, technical documentation and service level agreements developed by management.

Recognize problems, research, isolate, recommend resolution steps and follow up with senior staff to ensure resolution.

Provide lab support and participate in pre-distribution launches and Beta tests.

Provide timely investigation, recreation, and notification of critical technical challenges as reported via Center Problem Reports (CPR) and other sources.  Read and process CPRs in a timely manner.

Maintain a current working knowledge of xBT test center hardware, monitoring devices, and equipment as required to assure test center compliance with the latest standards.

Keep abreast of changes in policies and procedures of existing testing programs as well as new testing programs that plan to use the xBT network system.

Communicate effectively with ETS, test center administrators and external staff to assure information is disseminated in a timely manner. Maintain accurate field reports and updates to databases.

Monitor activities associated with the xBT testing network.  Coordinate and process test center reports, exception reports, and audit/tracking reports related to CBT activities.

Ability to own a product and become the in-house expert for that product.  To be effective the candidate will need to be able to share knowledge about the product with customers and peer.  The candidate will also be expected to host and manage all information about that product in a central location available to peers.


Five years of progressively responsible technical support experience in a computer environment, working directly or via telephone with the end user.  Demonstrate competency pertaining to hardware and software functionality and performance. Skills to include:

• Demonstrated competency pertaining to hardware and software functionality and performance
• Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and resolve problems
• Working knowledge and experience in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail applications
• Knowledge of Internet communications and network security (Firewalls and Proxy configurations)
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems
• Basic understanding of network terminology and topology
• Familiarity with Internet technologies such as Java, HTML, etc
• Familiarity with desktop and imaging/ghosting configurations
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Some experience working with overseas population/cultures is desirable
• Working knowledge of MAC OS


An Associate’s degree, including coursework in data processing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Working knowledge and experience in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail applications is highly desirable.
