Blackwell’s is looking for a enthusiastic mobile developer to join a small start up style development team to deliver an ambitious project at what is a very exciting time for Blackwell’s. We’re building apps on both iOS and Android and need someone with experience on one platform who is also enthusiastic about learning development on other mobile platforms.

Reporting to the Tech Lead, you’ll be working closely with the development team and UX designer using Agile methodologies to create slick, user centered mobile and tablet apps. We’re a small team who are building an exciting product and will need enthusiastic multi skilled developers who are interested in making the project succeed. Since the whole team is new, there is an opportunity to shape the development processes and tools used throughout the project.

You’ll have a strong understanding of mobile design guidelines and love well built mobile apps. You’ve love the challenges and idiosyncrasies of all platforms and you’ll also love tidy, clean code and solving complex problems with simple design patterns.

Required

  • Experience building native iOS or Android apps.
  • Experience building data driven apps by integrating with backend APIs.
  • Enthusiasm to learn development on iOS or Android if you don’t already have experience on that platform.

Beneficial

  • Experience developing on both iOS and Android.
  • Experience working with DRM and Encryption inside iOS/Android apps.
  • Experience and an understanding of Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban and XP.
  • Experience using Git and GitFlow.
  • HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript skills.
  • Windows mobile development experience.
